Chocolate Festival

Yesterday we went to the most disappointing chocolate festival at the Morris Museum. We were all excited to learn about chocolate in colonial times and enjoy some chocolate samples. It was not at all what we expected.

As we waited online to purchase tickets there was a lovely person handing out samples. Off to a good start we thought. Once we entered the museum there as a station set up with a woman in colonial dress making chocolate. She gave us a history of chocolate (how it used to be a drink and how you needed lots of froth), how you needed to roast the beans and heat the stone and roll it out. That was it. There were a couple of craft stations involving m & m's and felt but that was it. We were all disappointed. We have been to the Morris Museum before for a Fall Festival and it was a lot of fun, this festival felt like a bait and switch. They got us in by advertising chocolate and the big exhibit was about space and the human body. Those exhibits were fun and fascinating but not why we went to the museum.
