Today we visited the Desert Museum (http://www.desertmuseum.org/). It was very cool. We took a one hour guided tour when we arrived. Our guide was chock full of info and it really gave us a sense of the desert. After the tour was over we continued to explore on our own (wear good walking shoes if you ever have the chance to go). We saw a mountain lion, ocelot, grey fox, javelina, owls, Mexican wolves, an assortment of snakes, lizards, prairie dogs, and more. And of course, we saw all kinds of cacti and other fauna and flora.
Piece of trivia for you...........
The Saguaro cactus is native to Arizona. All those old westerns you watched as a kid that took place in Texas were all filmed in Arizona. Spot the cactus and you know where it was filmed.
